🏃🏼‍♀️ I used to worry and obsess over 🏃🏼‍♀️ I used to worry and obsess over whether people liked me or not. I cared way more than the healthy dose (not that any dose is healthy), and would let it affect me way too much. 💞 Wanting to be loved and liked is legitimate and understandable. But I used to spend too much time and energy changing myself accordingly, wasting my true self away in order to please people that didn’t really matter or deserve it. 🛠 For far too long I would “tweak” myself to fit in where I wasn’t accepted as I really am. Putting in so much effort for people who wouldn’t like what they saw if the got a glimpse of the real me. 🤗 One of the biggest single life lessons I learned, was to accept myself. How much more important it is than to be accepted by people who couldn’t actually care less. 🎭 I’m refusing to wear that mask any longer, because I’m great as I am. And if people can’t see that, they’re either blind or oblivious. And that’s their problem. Either way, I will keep on living my life without hiding myself for others. I will stay true to myself, and if that bothers anyone, that’s their problem. I won’t change or hide myself, no matter who they are. How about you? Have you changed yourself to be accepted by others? Please share and spread the 💜
NEW BLOG POST - 7 Stages of Being the Single Sibli NEW BLOG POST - 7 Stages of Being the Single Sibling *link in bio* Sneak peak: For the past few years of my singlehood, I’ve been through many ups and downs, highs and lows regarding my singleness. Especially since I turned 30, and especially since I’m the “single sister” – with two sisters who are married with kids. These four years, since I ended my last serious, long-term relationship – have been very taxing, exhausting, exhilarating and provided many great life lessons and experiences. Amongst these lessons, are many things I’ve learned about being the single sister of the family. Thinking back on it now, I managed to break it down to stages I’ve gone through. Immediately following the breakup, there’s usually what I call the “warning stages”, or “pre-stages”. This usually consists of relief, the euphoria of being single again – especially if you’ve just ended a taxing and unhealthy relationship. Like me, you probably want nothing to do with anything remotely resembling commitment. So basically, you’re happy to be alone, to go out with friends and just have fun. But as time passes, and all you meet are crappy men (because you’re rejecting the serious ones off the bat, which is understandable.) – You start to get sick and tired of the games. How about you? Are you the single sibling? What stages have you gone through? Please share and spread the 💜 •

“You have brains in your head. And feet in your “You have brains in your head. And feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. You know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…” - Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! This has always been one of my Altima favorite quotes... because it’s truly inspirational and motivating to go out and take your journey. Don’t be afraid to fight on your own, you’re stronger than you know. That is a huge life lesson that I’ve learned again and again from single life. I love feeling that independence and strength. That I can achieve and overcome what ever I set my mind to. And so it with my own hard work. So don’t be afraid to take the journey you want and wish for. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. Be brave enough to believe in yourself and your path. How about you? Have you taken a journey alone? Please share and spread the 💜

No one is worth putting yourself down for. When yo No one is worth putting yourself down for. When you get rid of all of those toxic people and their toxic energy, self love will be so much easier to practice. Raise your hand 🙋‍♀️ if you’ve also wasted too much time on toxic people. That’s okay, we’ve all been there. Utilize it as a stepping stone. As a life lesson. This is what you’re not willing to put up with ever again. The energy you wasted on them, can now got to chasing yourself instead. •

So here’s to 2021 being the year we all reconnect, the year when we get back to it with full force. 2020 may have been a mess, may have faced us with the fear of the unknown and much more – but it was also an opportunity to pause, and reflect. It was the chance to slow things down and look within ourselves and now we can head into 2021 with full force, and no excuses. Or at least less excuses. Happy New Year, and may this one be a truly great one, with many more to follow. How about you? What are some of your resolutions and how do you set them? Please share and spread the 💜 •

"Don’t chase people. Be yourself, do your own th "Don’t chase people. Be yourself, do your own thing and work hard. The right people – the ones who really belong in your life – will come to you. And stay." - Will Smith I’ve wasted so much time and energy chasing people. Both toxic and people that just weren’t right for me. I lost myself in that chase, drove myself crazy over them. I’ve spent so much time obsessing over the wrong people who didn’t deserve me. Wondering what I did wrong, why I wasn’t enough, why they didn’t want me. To the point where I just no longer knew who I was. Single life taught me how to love myself first. How to embrace myself and my Singlehood. How to enjoy my own company and never ever settle again. The right people for you will put in the effort to be in your life. They will find a way to be a part of your life. How about you? Have you ever chased the wrong people? NEW BLOG POST - Are you too comfortable in your ow NEW BLOG POST - Are you too comfortable in your own company? How to cope and how to tell. **link in bio** Sneak Peak: A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post about 10 steps to enjoy your own company, which is a topic I’ve been touching on a lot since I became single, and especially since I started this blog. Lately, I’ve also found myself questioning at what point does it become a little too much? This began to echo in my thoughts when I realised that I’ve become so comfortable in my own company, that more often than not – I avoid going out and hanging with others. And when I do, I can’t wait to be alone again. Ever since I was a young girl, I loved being alone and enjoyed my own company. Perhaps it was due to not being popular and not having many friends, but I grew to cherish my own company and for that I’m grateful. Recently though, especially with the pandemic, I’ve found myself having anxiety when being with others. Not always and not with everyone, but it did get me wondering whether I may be a bit too comfortable by myself. How about you? Do you feel like your too comfortable in your own company sometimes? Just like every other relationship you have in you Just like every other relationship you have in your life, you need to work on the one you have with yourself, too. Sometimes we forget and neglect ourselves in favor of others. We lose ourselves in other relationships. But just like every other relationship in our life, we need to develop and maintain a connection with ourselves. Work on spending quality time with yourself and creating a deeper, better relationship with yourself. No matter what your relationship status is. How about you? Do you develop a self relationship? How do you do it? Please share and spread the 💜 •

Pros and Cons of being single during 2020 -
•
• 2020 has definitely been one crazy rollercoaster ride… It faced me with many fears and challenges, and there were moments where I had no idea how to cope. Moments where I was hoping and praying it would be over soon. But there were also moments where I loved it. Where I finally got to do all the things I wanted to do for the longest time. And yeah, as awful as it may sound, there are moments where I don’t want it to end. I have no idea if and how I would be able to go back to a “normal” pre-2020 routine. Perhaps I never will. I choose to look at the positive aspects of all the many things I have gained this year. Things that I would have never had the time and freedom to do otherwise. I had so much free time to just work on my blog, without having to worry about money or having to be anywhere – because I’m getting unemployment money. I got to spend some much needed time with myself and with all of my loved ones. And most importantly, I learned how to embrace my singleness and be even more happy to be single. How about you? What have been the best and worst parts of 2020? Were you single during this time? Please share and spread the 💜 •
